The first peek of New York

Mutta siis New York, ihana ihana New York! Menetin kyllä sydämeni sille kaupungille ihan täysin ja kokonaisvaltaisesti, aamen! Tuntuu, että New Yorkissa kaikki on ihan käden ulottuvilla, aluetta vaihtamalla voi hypätä tunnelmasta ja maailmasta toiseen; pastaillallinen kynttilän valossa Little Italyssa, orgaaninen aamupala SoHossa, nuudelilounas China Townissa, Mc Donald -ateria Time Squarella neonvalojen loisteessa, you name it, it's all there! :)

Coucou, here I am again and the travelling will stop now for a while. I was just counting that after I left to Finland on the 21st of December,so nearly 30 days ago, I have spent only few of them at home... So I guess is no wonder that now I can honestly say, sitting in the home sofa, that I truly know what is it meant by saying "home sweet home". I think that a small crane would be needed at the moment to move me from here, I don't wanna do anything, I don't wanna move anywhere, this is the place to be for a while now! :)

But so what about New York, oh so lovely New York! I lost my heart to this city, totally and completely, amen! In New York it feels like everything is there, you just have to go for it. By changing the district you can jump from the atmosphere and world to a completely another one; pasta dinner in the candle light in Little Italy (you feel like being in the God Father movie), organic breakfast in SoHo, a box of noodles in China Town, Mc Donald meal in Time Square while watching the jungle of neon lights, honestly you name it, it's there!

Suurin kiitos matkan onnistumisesta kuuluu ihanalle B:lle, joka perusteellisen taustatutkimuksen perusteella oli valinnut tukikohdaksemme Nolitan-hotellin, joka nimensä mukaisesti sijaitsee Nolitanin alueella. Nolitan on aivan kävelymatkan etäisyydellä SoHosta, East Villagesta, Lower East Sidesta, China Townista sekä Little Italysta, eikä Green Villageenkaan ole pitkä matka. Nämä alueet ovat itseasiassa, ainakin minun mielestäni, niitä New Yorkin helmiä; vietimmekin viidestä lomapäivistämme lähes kolme näiden alueiden katuja tallaamalla. Kadut ovat pieniä ja täynnä tunnelmallisia kahviloita ja pieniä putiikkeja, ravintoloissa ovat edustettuina kaikki maailman keittiöt.

The biggest thanks for the perfect trip belongs to my lovely boyfriend, because of the thorough background research :), he had found the Nolitan hotel, which is located in the same name area. Nolitan is within easy walking distance of Soho, East Village, Lower East Side, China Town and Little Italy, also Green Village is not so far away. These districts, atleast in my opinion, are the pearls of New York. The streets are small but full of cosy cafes and small boutiques, and in the restaurants you can find all the kitchens of the world.

Arvaatteko, mitkäs nämä on? :) No ne kuuluisat SATC portaat 66 Perry Streetillä! :) / The famous SATC staircases in 66 Perry Street. :)
